Dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) is an organic compound with a molecular formula of C24H38O4. It is a transparent oily liquid that is insoluble in water but soluble in general organic solvents [1]. Dioctyl terephthalate is an excellent primary plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics. Compared with the commonly used di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DOP), it has the advantages of heat resistance, cold resistance, low volatility, anti-extraction, flexibility and good electrical insulation properties. It shows excellent durability, soap water resistance and low-temperature flexibility in the products.
